What Semi-Finished Means in Practice?

Our semi-finished products have been processed at origin to a point that removes the labor-heavy steps without removing your options. Japanese mills operate with a level of dimensional precision and material handling that is difficult to replicate downstream. Slow kiln-drying, careful grading, and cutting decisions made when the wood is still in the hands of people who have worked that species for generations.

What arrives is not a finished good, but it is not raw stock either. It's material that has been brought to a stage where your workshop takes over with less waste, less prep time, and a clearer picture of what you're working with.
