Solid Timber Flooring That Passes 1,100 Hours Under Heat

Solid timber flooring and underfloor heating are usually incompatible by design. Wood moves with moisture and temperature. Heating cycles accelerate that movement. The standard industry answer is engineered board, a veneer of real wood over a dimensional core that handles the thermal stress.

This floor is a different answer. Solid Hinoki, verified through 1,100 hours of continuous heat testing to Japanese utility standards. Selected finishes maintain dimensional stability through thermal cycling while preserving the natural Hinokitiol aroma that makes Hinoki the material of choice for wellness interiors.

Available in three grades and two thicknesses, with a four-sided end-matched tongue and groove profile engineered for precise installation over heated substrates. This level of detail prevents the joint failure and surface movement that ordinary solid timber floors develop over heated floors within the first season.

The Three Grades for Heated Solid Hinoki Flooring

All three grades are available in 15mm and 12mm thicknesses. Pricing difference is driven by yield and selection, not by thickness.

Grade 1 - Mubushi / Muji (Clear)

Grade 2 - Jokobushi / Joko (Minimal Knots

Very few knots. Where present they are left visible; knots larger than approximately 6 mm may appear. Loose knots are filled with umeki (inserted traditional wood plugs).

Grade 3- Fushi-Ari (Knotty)

Natural knots that are integral to the board's character. Loose knots filled with umeki. Visually expressive. For interiors where the material's natural origin is part of the design intent.

100% clear, no knots. Grain direction and flow carefully selected for a calm, continuous surface. The most refined option. For applications where visual consistency and architectural clarity are top priority.
